This Ag Biology Professional Development Tour gives agriculture teachers the opportunity to connect classroom instruction to real-world science and agricultural applications through visits to the science departments at Weber State University and the Ogden Nature Center. At Weber State University, teachers will tour laboratories, interact with professors and researchers, and explore biotechnology concepts while discussing the durable skills students are often lacking when entering college and careers, including communication, professionalism, problem-solving, collaboration, and independence. At the Ogden Nature Center, teachers will participate in a guided tour focused on ecology, biodiversity, conservation, and habitat restoration, helping educators discover hands-on, place-based strategies for integrating biological and environmental science concepts into their curriculum.
