Worker Protection Standard

During my hour presentation I will discuss the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) and how it may apply to agricultural programs in high schools.   According to the law, students are to be trained as "Workers".  Very few students, if any, can be considered "handlers".  Each school will likely comply with WPS differently due to variations in programs and facilities.

Private Pesticide Applicator

Obtain your Private Pesticide Applicator license in this session. The exam costs $25 and is "open book." Those who want to take the exam need to complete some "homework" beforehand. Here's the link to the step-by-step instructions for people who want to obtain their Private Pesticide Applicator license. And here is the link to the National Pesticide Applicator Core manual that people need to study. This is also the manual they use during the exam. They'll want to download it to one of their own devices. On the day of the exam, they will need access to a computer, like their personal laptop, and a decent Wi-Fi connection.

The session will also highlight how AET POA tools connect directly to FFA applications, including the National Chapter Award, while empowering students to take ownership of planning and leadership roles. This workshop is ideal for advisors looking to streamline chapter planning, increase student engagement, and create a professional, organized POA that drives program success.
